Matthias Roth

Born in Munich, Matthias Roth, harpsichord and organ, studied Evangelical church music and organ with Franz Lehrndorfer and Edgar Krapp at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich.

Since 1999, he has been the Dean’s Cantor at the Evangelical City Church of Bad Reichenhall (Deanery of Traunstein), also serving as the official bell expert of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. He was appointed Church Music Director in 2014. In 2018, he received the Promotion Prize from the renowned Bücher-Dieckmeyer Foundation for the Advancement of Church Music.

In 2021, he was appointed deputy State Church Music Director of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria.
