Cellist Mischa Meyer studied with Martin Ostertag, David Geringas and Peter Bruns. He also gained valuable musical impetus from Steven Isserlis, Janos Starker, Gustav Rivinius and Seiji Ozawa. He has won the German Music Competition, the International Johannes Brahms Competition and International David Popper Competition, as well as being named a prize winner in the German Industry Association Competition and recipient of the Stenebrüggen Prize of Baden-Baden. He won a Special Prize at the Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann in 2006. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the RSO Berlin and the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. He is a member of the Ovid Trio and Eisler Quartet and performs with the Kaleidoskop soloist ensemble. He has been solo cellist of the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin since 2007.
