Mario Kopf

Mario Kopf was born in Rottweil. He earned a double major in bassoon performance and music education with Dr. Wolfgang Rüdiger and Karl-Otto Hartmann in Freiburg im Breisgau. In 1998 he won First Prizes in the solo bassoon categoary and with the Arundo Ensemble Freiburgat in the chamber music categoray at the Concorso di musica per giovani interpreti in Asti, Italy. After completing traineeships and attending the orchestra academies of the SWR Freiburg/Baden-Baden orchestra and the Staatskapelle Berlin, he has been bassoonist and contrabassonist with the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin since 2003. Mario Kopf has appeared regularly as an orchestra member with numerous German symphony orchestras as well as as a chamber musician with various ensembles, among others as a permanent member of the Trio Incanto di Legni.
