Pietro Corna
Oboe
Oboist Pietro Corna studied with Alfredo Panciroli, oboist at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and subsequently earned a Master’s degree with honors at the Zurich Conservatory under Thomas Indermühle. He has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra Stabile di Bergamo, New American Chamber Orchestra in Detroit, Symponia Perusina and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano. Pietro Corna also pursues a busy career performing in chamber music recitals, and has given master classes in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Holland, Brazil, the US and Spain. He has been principal oboist with major Italian orchestras such as Teatro alla Scala, Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Fenice, Sinfonica Siciliana, RAI di Torino, Filarmonici di Verona, Concerto Armonico Budapest and for the past eight years with the Orchestra Toscanini of Parma. Corna has performed in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Russia, The Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, and the US. Starting in 2006, he appeared in chamber music recitals and as a soloist with the orchestra of the International Double Reed Society. Pietro Corna is professor of oboe at the Conservatory of Music in Milan. He plays Baroque and modern oboe.
