The Berlin pianist Manuel Lange completed his studies with Oleg Maisenberg in Stuttgart and with Hans Leygraf in Salzburg and Berlin. He also regularly took part in lied master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Aribert Reimann and Wolfram Rieger.
Today he is one of the most renowned lied accompanists in Germany and has given concerts together with artists such as Anne Schwanewilms, Mojca Erdmann, Doris Soffel, Gerhild Romberger, Hermine May, Valentina Farcas, Brigitte Geller, Sibylla Rubens, Lothar Odinius, Jussi Myllys, Mario Zeffiri and Sebastian Noack at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Vienna Musikverein, the Semperoper in Dresden, La Scala in Milan, the Opéra Comique in Paris, the Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, the Théatre de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg, the Philharmonie in Cologne and Essen, the Frankfurt Opera, all three opera houses in Berlin, the Megaron in Athens and the Musiikkitalo in Helsinki.
He has also made guest appearances at festivals such as the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Baden-Baden Summer Festival, the Ruhrtriennale, the Maifestspiele Wiesbaden and the Heidelberger Frühling. After six years as a professor for vocal repertoire at the Berlin University of the Arts, Manuel Lange received an appointment as a professor for lied interpretation at the Detmold University of Music in the winter semester of 2011/12.
Manuel Lange lives with his family in Berlin and is the twin brother of the composer Marius Felix Lange.
