Anna Zhitnukhina

Anna Zhitnukhina was born in the Russian city of Arkhangelsk. She started playing the flute at the age of eight. In 1998 she began her education at the Arkhangelsk College of Music and graduated with honors. Early on, she was able to gain musical experience through youth competitions and orchestral playing. She earned her first music college degree in 2007 at the Saint Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
During her studies Anna Zhitnukhina was a permanent member as the first flutist of a professional orchestra. After graduating in Russia, she continued her education and earned a concert diploma at the Conservatorium Maastricht with Philippe Benoit, principal flutist of the Limburg Symphony Orchestra. She rounded out her training through numerous masterclasses with Janos Balint, Gaby Pas-Van Riet, Wally Hase, Bernoît Fromanger, and Jean Ferrandis.
From 2016 to 2018, she studied historical performance practice with the renowned professors Karl Kaiser and Michael Schneider while enrolled in a master’s degree program at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. Parallel to these studies, she received lessons from Linde Brunmayr-Tutz at the University of Music Trossingen, and in 2019 she completed her studies there with a master’s diploma in chamber music. Anna Zhitnukhina is active on a project basis as an orchestral musician and chamber musician in Germany.
