Alba Gentili-Tedeschi studied piano and composition at the Milan Conservatory. After completing her master’s degree she moved to Berlin in order to continue her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts where she graduated with a Master’s in Music in 2012. She also earned a degree in Solo Piano Performance at the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, Italy. She performs at international festivals throughout Europe as a soloist and chamber musician, including appearances at the most important concert venues such as the Auditorium del Lingotto in Turin, Milan’s Sala Verdi, the Zurich Tonhalle, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Volksbühne and the Staatsoper in Berlin. In addition to the Duo Kermani-Gentili, she works closely with the Opera Lab Berlin Ensemble and with the experimental Trio Transmitter, which released its first CD, camera obscura, in 2016. Her long-term interest in contemporary music and interdisciplinary art, which was further stimulated by the flourishing scene in Berlin, has resulted in regular cooperation with composers, actors, visual artists and artists in a wide variety of domains.
