The two members of Duo Kermani-Gentili are prize-winning artists who share a passion for innovative programming and performing at the highest level. The ensemble, at whose center the clarinet and the piano stand, often joins forces with string players to perform as a trio or quartet. Kymia Kermani and Alba Gentili-Tedeschi met in Berlin in 2012 and initially selected the name “Ensemble End of Time” in tribute to Olivier Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps.
The group performed the world premiere of the Ode agli abitatori di un albero abbattuto by Italian composer Irlando Danieli as well as the German premiere of the ASUKA rhapsody for clarinet and piano by French composer Roger Boutry and the Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano by Norwegian composer Marcus Paus.
Duo Kermani-Gentili regularly go on tour throughout Europe. Their performance at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam was broadcast live by Dutch broadcaster Radio 4.
