Takuhiro Murayama was born in Tokyo. He came to Germany at the age of 18 and studied piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, the Folkwang University of the Arts and the University of Music Karlsruhe with Gerhard Oppitz, Boris Bloch and Kalle Randalu. In addition, he regularly took part in master classes with renowned artists such as Elisabeth Leonskaja, Leonard Hokanson, Bruno Canino and Maria Tipo.
In 1994, Takuhiro Murayama won the A.M.A. Calabria International Piano Competition in Italy. In 1997, he won 3rd prize at the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund, another important accolade for his skills.
Numerous concert activities as a solo pianist, but also in the various genres of chamber music, have taken him to many different stages at home and abroad, including Japan and the USA.
