Hailed by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for his “eminent sense of tonal timbres”, the Romanian-born pianist Eduard Stan has received international acclaim after emigrating to Germany in 1978 at the age of eleven. He has performed at the Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall London, Philharmonie Berlin, Salle Cortot Paris and Konzerthaus Vienna, among others. A student of Arie Vardi, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Martin Dörrie in Hanover, he has also appeared at the Massenet Festival, the Enescu Festival, the piano festivals in Lille and Cracow, the Brunswick Classix, the Galway Schumann Festival and the Mid-Europe Festival. His CDs for Hänssler Classic (which also include the full violin and piano repertoire by Enescu) and Thorofon attracted praising reviews.
