Mino Marani was born in Italy in 1985, where he studied piano, chamber music, composition, conducting, semiotics, and communication studies in Bologna and Milan. Since 2011 he has resided in Germany, with successive engagements at theaters in Mainz, Osnabrück, Pforzheim, Koblenz, and Braunschweig. In September 2024 Mino Marani has become the General Music Director of the City of Heidelberg and artistic leader of the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Among the stage works he has conducted are Wagner’s Das Rheingold, Götterdämmerung, and The Flying Dutchman; Strauss’ Salome; Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle; Verdi’s Il trovatore, Nabucco, Luisa Miller, and Rigoletto; Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, The Abduction from the Seraglio, as well as contemporary and modern works like Dead Man Walking, The Golden Dragon, and The Notebook, and rediscovered pieces such as Dante by French composer Benjamin Godard.

During the 2024–2025 season, Mino Marani will conduct new productions of Macbeth, Werther, and Jenůfa at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, as well as philharmonic concerts featuring works by Mahler, Ives, Ligeti, Debussy, Weinberg, Brahms, Shostakovich, Janáček, Rachmaninov, and Sarah Nemtsov.

In January 2025 he will debut at the Cologne Opera with La Bohème.
