In March 2024, Classic FM named Philipp Schupelius one of the world's 30 most exciting young musicians. This highly acclaimed young cellist has captivated audiences as a soloist and chamber musician on numerous European stages. Currently, he is studying at the Kronberg Academy under the tutelage of Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, made possible through the Sodalitas Patronage.

At just 17, Philipp Schupelius was honored with the Discovery Award at the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA). In October 2022, he received the Boris Pergamenschikow Grant and the Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis. Additionally, he won the First Great Award at the Manhattan Music Competition at the end of 2021 and the Silver Medal at the Eurovision Young Musicians Contest in 2022. In August 2023, Philipp won the German Music Competition in Bonn. Schupelius will be featured as a debut artist at the Nikolaisaal in Potsdam in the upcoming season.

Philipp Schupelius has had the privilege of learning from extraordinary musicians. He has been a student of Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt for six years and was previously taught by Ulrich Voss. He has also received valuable guidance from Justin Pearson, Daniel Hope, and Anssi Karttunen. Since 2020, the Hoelzer v. Borckesche Music Foundation has supported Philipp in his musical journey.
