The Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie (previously Deutsches Musikschulorchester) recruits its 13-19 year old members from elite students at German music schools. We’ve produced a CD under the enthusiastic yet disciplined direction of the famous cellist and conductor Michael Sanderling. Featuring the works of Dvorak and Mendelssohn, it’s played with inspiring freshness and vitality, reflecting the youth and enthusiasm of this new generation of musicians. Many of former members are playing today in famous orchestras like Gewandhausorchester or Dresdner Staatskappelle.
This CD marks the beginning of a new, long-term cooperation between the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, Deutschlandradio Kultur and GENUIN.
