With his first two piano concertos, the young Ludwig van Beethoven presented himself in Vienna as the man of the hour and the musician of the future. This new style and momentum is brought to life from the very first note by the eleven musicians around the multi-award-winning Aris Alexander Blettenberg on their current GENUIN CD. The arrangements, written especially for the orchestra of the Kammeroper München, reveal the details of the original scores transparently without losing any of their orchestral radiance. Conductor, pianist, and composer Aris Alexander Blettenberg leads the orchestra with dynamism and expressiveness from the grand piano.

das Orchester
"The Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in B flat major op. 19 by Ludwig van Beethoven captivates in this rendition with the pianist Aris Alexander Blettenberg and the Orchestra of the Munich Chamber Opera due to its spherical lightness, which, however, does not lack depth." Review by Alexander Walther, issue 10/2024

klassik.com
"With good dexterity, the pianist presents the theme in its smallest motifs and ligatures. [...] Overall, the interpretation is outstandingly successful." Review by Anastasia Eckert, February 1, 2024

Piano News
"[...] an extremely fresh recording, bursting with musical joy." Review by Carsten Dürer, 1-2024 issue

clicmusique.com
"The result is an original clarification of the original orchestral textures and a strengthening of the cohesion of the instrumentalists." Review by Jacques-Philippe Saint-Gerand

PIANIST
"Blettenberg proves to be an excellent pianist in the Piano Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 as well as the Rondo WoO 6, which Blettenberg has recorded in his arrangement for small ensemble with the Munich Chamber Opera Orchestra." Review by Eric Schoones published in issue 4/2023

Orchestergraben
"[...] an agile, fresh and modern Beethoven recording that puts you in a good mood and envelops the Sunday living room in an artfully performed classical atmosphere as you pass by." Review by Stefan Pillhofer, December 05, 2023
