Aris Alexander Blettenberg

Aris Alexander Blettenberg was born in 1994 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. He has made a name for himself as a pianist, conductor, and composer. In October 2021 he won the International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna. He is also a First Prizewinner of the International Hans von Bülow Competition Meiningen 2015 in the Conducting from the Piano category.
Aris Alexander Blettenberg performs in major concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, London’s Wigmore Hall, and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels as well as at renowned festivals such as the Kissinger Sommer, the Ruhr Piano Festival, and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. He collaborates with Julia Fischer, Christian Tetzlaff, Julian Rachlin, the Frankfurt Museum Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestra, and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, among others.
The German-Greek musician received his training in Munich, in Salzburg, and in Hanover. His teachers include Lars Vogt, Antti Siirala, and Bruno Weil. He also received further inspiration from Rudolf Buchbinder, Gerhard Oppitz, Imogen Cooper, and Vladimir Jurowski.
Aris Alexander Blettenberg is a recipient of the Steinway Prize 2019 and the Bavarian Art Prize 2020, and is an alumnus of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. Since March 2022 he has been an official Bösendorfer artist.
