Olga Watts

Harpsichordist Olga Watts was described by the Süddeutsche Zeitung as a “grandiose Early Music specialist.” Born in Moscow, Watts earned a music degree in harpsichord, fortepiano and basso continuo performance with highest honors at Munich’s Hochschule
für Musik und Theater under Lars Ulrik Mortensen.

While still studying, she won First Prize in Bavaria as Most Promising Young Musician for Period Performance Practice. Together with her ensemble, Lyriarte, she has been
a prizewinner at the Premio Bonporti Competition in Rovereto, Italy and the International Johann Heinrich Schmelzer Competition in Austria.

Watts has performed as a highly acclaimed soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Canada and the US. Over 20 CD productions in her discography and hundreds of recordings for radio and television bear witness to her artistry.

Olga Watts is a lecturer in harpsichord vocal coaching at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
