Christian Lindberg

Artist photo of Christian Lindberg - Trombone

Christian Lindberg’s achievements for the trombone can only be compared with those of Paganini for the violin or Liszt for the piano. Having premiered over 300 works for trombone (including more than 90 major concertos), recorded over 70 solo CDs, been voted the greatest brass player in history ahead of celebrities such as Wynton Marsalis, Dennis Brain, and Maurice André, received the International Classical Music Award as “Artist of the Year 2016,” and with an international solo competition created in his name, Christian Lindberg is nothing less than a living legend. In addition to his unrivalled career as a trombonist, Christian Lindberg has now also embarked on a highly successful conducting career. Recent successes include a standing ovation at his conducting debut at Vienna´s Musikverein, an equally successful televised conducting debut in Suntory Hall with the Nippon Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra, and stunning reviews for his conductng debuts at the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, and Meistersingerhalle Nürnberg.
