Harpsichord
Jean-Christophe Dijoux was born in Réunion in 1982. During his piano studies at the Paris Conservatoire, he discovered historical instruments, subsequently studying harpsichord with Françoise Marmin and basso continuo with Frédéric Michel. He then continued his studies at the Freiburg University of Music with Robert Hill and Michael Behringer, earning his degree with distinction in 2012. In addition, he studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher and Jesper Christensen. At the 2013 International Telemann Competition, Jean-Christophe Dijoux won awards for the best and most stylistically accurate basso continuo playing. In 2014 he won first prize at the XIX Bach Competition in Leipzig in the harpsichord category. He has played for Radio France and at numerous festivals, including the Leipzig Bach Festival, Festival de Musique Baroque de Lamèque in Canada, and JCMS Recital Series in Cambridge. In 2012 he was harpsichordist of the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO). In the field of contemporary music, he has often performed with the Ensemble 2e2m. With flutist Anne Freitag, he founded the Ensemble Alter Klang in 2015, which has already been honored with first prizes in two Italian competitions.
