Nina Karmon, described by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as a well-grounded and sincere fighter with a beautiful sound, is an international soloist. Performances with renowned orchestras have brought her to large concert halls all over the world. She has also acquired important artistic inspiration in her musical collaboration with personalities such as Pinchas Zukerman, Zubin Mehta, Gerhard Oppitz and Helmuth Rilling. Along with her activities as a soloist, she is also highly devoted to chamber music. In 2008, Nina Karmon started the Musical Salon chamber music festival at Schaubeck Castle in Steinheim. Every year in May, internationally known musicians come together in the castle’s barn to make music.When she was five years old, Nina Karmon, born in Stuttgart, started to learn cello with her mother, a Finnish cellist. Shortly before her seventh birthday she took up the violin and in the years following she was taught by her father, the then concertmaster of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. Nina Karmon has studied with Silvia Marcovici, Vladimir Landsman, Radu Bozgan, Professor Werner Scholz and Pinchas Zukerman.
