Kateryna Titova
Piano
The young pianist Kateryna Titova was born in the Ukraine in 1983 and started playing the piano at the age of five. From 1994 to 1999 she attended the State Music Conservatory in Charkov, Ukraine and subsequently studied at the Moscow Conservatory. From 2001 to 2003 Kateryna studied in Germany at the Münster Musikhochschule with Prof. Michael Keller and later in Dresden in Solo Piano with Arcady Zenziper. Kateryna has garneredd first or second prizes at more than twenty international piano competitions including in 2002 at the Alicia de Larrocha Competition Andorra and the International Piano Competition "Spanish Composers" in Madrid, in 2004 at the International Swedish Duo Competition in Katrineholm and the International Russian Music Piano Competition in San José, in 2005 at the International Rubinstein Piano Competition in Dresden, where she also won a grand piano, and in 2008 at the James Mottram International Piano Competition in Manchester. From 2008 on she took part in master classes with Norma Fisher and master classes at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and also at the Imola Piano Academy in Italy with Prof. Boris Petrushansky. She also gained considerable artistic inspiration through her collaboration with the former pupil of Jacob Milstein, Igor Blagodatov, who is considered one today's leading pianists in the tradition of the Russian school of piano playing. Ms. Titova has appeared as a soloist and in chamber music recitals in the Ukraine, Russia, Europe and the US, appearing with ensembles such as the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Symphonic Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonie der Nationen, and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra with Maxim Vengerov. In 2009, Sony Classical released her critically acclaimed debut CD “Rachmaninoff” featuring preludes and other solo works by the Russian composer. Kateryna Titova has been based in Berlin since 2010.
