The principal conductor and founder, Elisabeth Fuchs, has succeeded in forming an orchestra with an unmistakable profile out of the best musicians of the younger generation. In its programs the Philharmonie Salzburg sets the tone with unconventional concert evenings, cross-over projects and performances of rarely heard repertoire. Audiences and the critical press alike are regularly carried away not only by the ensemble’s performances in its own concert series, now with more than 600 subscribers, but also as a guest orchestra. The orchestra has performed at the Salzburg Festspiele, the Salzburg New Year’s Concert in the Großes Festspielhaus, in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, in the
Zollverein Essen, at the Musica Riva Festival and in the Brucknerhaus Linz.
