Anastasia Voltchok
pianoforte
„…Anastasia Voltchok is a representative of the great Russian tradition of pianists. Her playing is powerful and fiery. There is no limit to her technical prowess. It is as though Richter’s spirit were floating in the room…“
(Le Temps, Geneva)
This exceptional pianist, versatile artist, seasoned teacher and life-affirming woman, honoured with a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Maryland and first prizes from numerous competitions, was born in Moscow into a family of professional pianists and has led a life shaped by music, the fine arts and an open world view. For Anastasia Voltchok, playing the piano has been a matter of course for as long as she can remember. She gave her first concerts in her early childhood and immediately captured the attention of press and public. After studying at the Central School of Music in Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory, she perfected her playing with Rudolf Buchbinder at the Hochschule für Musik in Basle. Again and again she has proven to be a sensitive and reliable partner for many conductors of the stature of Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Pletnev and Mario Venzago, demonstrating superb musicianship and poise. Whether in recitals or before an orchestra, she invariably leaves a deep impression with her stupendous technique and mysterious radiance. In addition to performing in the great concert halls, Anastasia Voltchok has regularly appeared as a guest artist at the Moscow Easter Festival, the Toradze Piano Festival and the Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron, playing a broad and diverse repertoire and revealing a profound knowledge of the piano literature.
