Vivian Hanner
Mezzo-Soprano
Mezzo-soprano Vivian Hanner has made an excellent name for herself in Central Germany with her versatile solo performances. Her many concert appearances include works from the Classical and Romantic periods as well as New Music repertoire.
Vivian Hanner majored in voice at the “Franz Liszt” Musikhochschule in Weimar, studying with Prof. Ulrike Fuhrmann and also studied with Kammersänger Prof. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin.
More recently she has gained valuable artistic impetus from Kammersängerin Prof. Regina Werner-Dietrich. Vivian Hanner studied music education at the University of Potsdam. She has appeared in various operatic roles at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Leipzig Opera, and at the Potsdam and Gera Municipal Theaters. Concert tours have taken her to Israel several times where among other performances she has sung Kindertotenlieder and Lied von der Erde by Gustav Mahler. She has appeared in many premiere performances such as for works by Hans Werner Henze, Günter Bialas, Siegfried Thiele, Martin Kürschner and Reinhard Pfundt.
Vivian Hanner is a member of the faculty at Leipzig’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy,” the “Clara Schumann” Musik und Kunstschule and for many years has given master classes at the Lotte Lehmann Solo Voice and Drama Week in Perleberg.
