The Ernst Senff Chorus is a semi-professional ensemble which appears in concert with well-known orchestras and conductors. For more than 40 years, the chorus has regularly appeared in concerts in Berlin, throughout Germany and at international music festivals.
The ensemble’s repertoire ranges from the 17th to the 21st century with New Music playing an important part in its programming. Depending on the performance requirements, the ensembles size varies from 20 to 120 singers.
A high level of professionalism and commitment is expected of members in the Ernst Senff Chorus. All of the ensemble members have vocal training (as part of their studies or privately) but pursue a profession outside music.
Many of the Senff Chorus’s members also work in the supplementary choruses of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Komische Oper Berlin. They are engaged to supplement various concert and opera choruses or also to sing as soloists.
