Stefano Vismara

Stefano Vismara began studying piano with Rosalia Manenti and subsequently won First Prize in piano at the Milan State Music Conservatory. He later won numerous awards including the Special Category Prize at the International Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev Piano Competition in the US, which was personally conferred upon him by Gyorgy Sandor.
He pursued further studies of the piano with Massimiliano Damerini, Pietro Soraci, Nana Khubutja, Menahem Pressler and Emanuel Krasovski in Italy, Finland, Georgia and finally in the United States. Stefano Vismara is also committed to the performance of the operatic and ballet repertoire as an accompanist for Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and the Opéra de Paris. He has collaborated as a pianist and harpsichordist with the Orchestra Guido Cantelli in Milan.
Stefano Vismara appears on the concert podium as a soloist and chamber music performer in Italy, France, Germany, Finland, Brazil and the US for Jeunesses Musicales, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Rossini Opera Festival, Opéra de Paris, Teatro alla Scala, Société Européenne du Concert and the Opéra de Lyon.
He gave his solo debut in 2003 in the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, New York, and recently performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
In 2004 he founded the Novecento Ensemble, and has been Professor of Piano on the faculty of the Paul Dukas Conservatory in Paris.
