Mendelssohnorchester Leipzig

The Mendelssohnorchester Leipzig (founded by David Timm in 1999) consists primarily of graduates of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, who today have leading positions in such orchestras as the Gewandhausorchester, the MDR-Sinfonieorchester, and similar orchestras. The ensemble made a name for itself through its concert performances in the Leipzig Thomaskirche and at the Gewandhaus, radio and television productions and CD recordings, and concert performances of operas (Der Fliegende Holländer in 2005 at the Federal Administrative Court in Koblenz and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg in 2007 at the Schauspielhaus in Leipzig).
