The young German soprano Eva Zalenga, born in Biberach (Baden-Württemberg), discovered her passion for singing early on. Encouraged by her elementary school teacher, who recognized her talent, Eva began taking voice lessons at seven. A few years later, she gained her first solo concert experience and became a prizewinner in the national “Jugend musiziert” competition.

After completing her vocal studies at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden and the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig, Eva joined the ensemble of Theater St. Gallen in Switzerland. This was followed by engagements at prestigious venues such as the State Theater Hanover, the Dresden State Operetta, Leipzig Opera, and Theater Regensburg, where she earned acclaim for her portrayal of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. Her debuts at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Adele in Die Fledermaus and as Sophie in Werther at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen were especially celebrated.

With her “beautiful and angelic voice,” Eva Zalenga has won numerous competitions, including the German Music Competition 2023, SWR’s Young Opera Stars 2023, and the National Singing Competition Berlin. A career highlight came with her performance at the Wiener Musikverein as the winner of the Vienna International Music Competition in 2023.

In addition to her operatic career, Eva is passionate about lieder and concert repertoire. Recent engagements have taken her to the renowned Schubertíada in Spain and Nuremberg’s Meistersingerhalle for a performance of Bach’s St. John Passion. In spring 2024, her debut album, In Relations, was released to widespread acclaim.
