The vocal soloists of SCHOLA HEIDELBERG have mastered a wide variety of styles and vocal techniques ranging from the vocal polyphony of the Renaissance to the 21st century, with historically informed performance practices of the earliest and contemporary music converging in a new interpretive culture. The vocal ensemble performs regularly in Heidelberg, throughout Germany, and at international festivals, often together with ensemble aisthesis as well as renowned ensembles and orchestras.
The CD productions of the SCHOLA HEIDELBERG, which feature vocal compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries, have received international awards. The most recent releases in 2020 were Parole e Testi with vocal works by Nono and Sciarrino and Die Zeit nunmehr vorhanden ist – Weihnachtliche Vokalmusik in bedrängter Zeit (Time is now present – Christmas vocal music in troubled times) with chorales of the 17th century and contributions by the philosopher Enno Rudolph.
