Marcia Lemke-Kern is passionate about discovering new music, her personal preferences including rarities from the Middle Ages and premieres of contemporary works. After studying in London, Hamburg, and Paris, Lemke-Kern has performed with the Non-Piano Ensemble, Sinfonietta VivazzA, Rungholt Ensemble, Musica Delecta, Radar Ensemble, and Decoder Ensemble as well as with her own ensemble for music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Trobar e Cantar.
Together with her husband, composer Sascha Lino Lemke, Lemke-Kern won the first prize at the competition of the European Conference of Promoters of New Music at Gaudeamus in Amsterdam. Composers such as Simon Steen-Andersen, Michael Maierhof, and Benjamin Scheuer have dedicated works to her and her ensembles.
She has performed as a soloist in Austria, Portugal, Estonia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, the USA, and the Caribbean.
