20 November 2015: For International Classic Music Awards, which has been awarded each year since 2011 and is already one of the most important of its kind, the international jury has announced its nominees for 2016. GENUIN is pleased to have received six nominations. In the Baroque Instrumental
category the CD En sol - Musique pour le Roi-Soleil, featuring the harpsichordist Rebecca Maurer, was selected, as was the new release of Russian Arias with mezzo-soprano Vesselina Kasarova in the Vocal Recital
section. The first CD of Sehnsucht, featuring the complete choral works for male voices by Franz Schubert with Camerata Musica Limburg, received a nomination in the category of Choral works, and the Klenke Quartet was selected for its recording of Franz Schubert’s string quartets in the field of Chamber Music. The exceptional recording of sonatas for Theremin (Carolina Eyck) and Piano, composed and performed by Christopher Tarnow, was nominated in the category of Contemporary music. And finally, GENUIN is honored to have been nominated for its complete legacy of the Uruguayan-born pianist Dinorah Varsi in the section of Historical recordings.
The jury of the International Classical Music Award consists of 17 music critics of major European music magazines, radio stations and online services. The organization is presided over by Rémy Franck, editor of the Luxembourg online magazine Pizzicato. Along with Fono Forum and MDR Figaro, also the publications Andante (Turkey), Crescendo (Belgium), Gramofon (Hungary), Croatian Radiotelevision (Croatia), Musica (Italy), Music & Theater (Switzerland), Opera (Great Britain), Orpheus (Russia), Radio 100,7 (Luxembourg), Res Musica (France), Rondo Classic (Finland), Scherzo (Spain ), IMZ (Austria) and Kultura (Russia) are represented. The recordings were selected from different categories ranging from instrumental and Baroque vocal music to opera, symphonic works, contemporary music and releases on DVD.
