ECHO Klassik 2013 Awards Ceremony with Star Tuba Player Andreas Martin Hofmeir

Last Sunday the ECHO Klassik was awarded for the 20th time to outstanding artists of classical music at the Berlin Konzerthaus. The GENUIN tuba player Andreas Martin Hofmeir received the award as "Instrumentalist of the Year" - the first tuba player in the history of the ECHO to have done so.

We are delighted about this and congratulate Andreas Martin Hofmeir!

The presenter of the awards, Olaf Schubert, got the laugh of the evening when he announced Andreas Martin Hofmeir: "Tuba players are the doormats of the orchestra", the tone sounds like a "mammoth fart". Hofmeir also reacted with humour. No wonder – Hofmeir is also active as a cabaret performer when he is not playing the tuba with LaBrassBanda.
