A sound engineer from GENUIN is in Venezuela this week in order to produce a CD with the "Banda Sinfonica Simon Bolivar." Whilst the recordings are still being made, we are already gathering first impressions from the "Sala Simon Bolivar," the concert hall in Caracas that was just opened a few years ago. A piece from the "Pictures at an Exhibition" recorded just yesterday can already be heard as well, played by the nearly 100 young musicians with such perfection that we can issue it directly "from the tape."
The "Banda Sinfonica Juvenil Simon Bolivar" is the only symphonic wind orchestra of the well-known Venezuelan youth orchestral programme "el Sistema." The German trumpeter and conductor Thomas Clamor has been in charge of the ensemble for many years and conducts it on this recording as well. The CD will probably be issued by GENUIN at the end of this year or in early 2013.
