Unstern! – Sinistre, disastro
Musical aesthetics at the beginning of the 20th century were revolutionised by a new generation of composers who still saw their roots in tradition, but were determined to drive musical development forward. Many different currents and directions emerged, which took their impetus from the same idea: to consistently transform the foundations of the familiar. The album includes piano works by Arnold Schönberg, who brought about an important change in composition at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as the sonata by his pupil Alban Berg and Bernd Alois Zimmermann's solo piano work Enchiridion Part I and Part II, which impressively demonstrates the path to serial music. Liszt's piano works Nuages Gris and Unstern! - Sinistre, disastro also bear witness to an unprecedented world of sound.
