The German radio broadcaster Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the German Music Council, and GENUIN once again jointly present the debut CD of a promising young musician: organist Aurel Dawidiuk is the winner of the 2022 German Music Competition in the organ category. His stellar career, however, goes far beyond that, as Dawidiuk is also celebrating his first international successes as a pianist and conductor. Exploring the theme of B-A-C-H in his organ debut, the major organ works assembled here span three centuries and include music by Johann Sebastian Bach himself, Johann Krebs, Franz Liszt, Zsigmond Szathmáry, and Max Reger – a rich diversity of music covering a wide range of styles!
28.05.2024: Aurel Dawidiuk s been nominated for the OPUS KLASSIK 2024 in the categories "Instrumentalist of the Year and "Solo recording Instrument of the Year".

Orgelnieuws (NL)
"Dawidiuk's interpretation of Bach's Fantasia in G minor is particularly fascinating. [...] The way he combines freedom and control is breathtaking. [...] A fascinating listening experience." Review by David de Jong, March 27, 2024
Schabel Kultur-Blog
"The excellent program of this debut CD is a double homage to Bach, on the one hand through the following composers and on the other through Aurel Dawidiuk's powerful and exciting interpretations." Review by Michaela Schabel, March 11, 2024
OpusKlassiek (NL)
"Dawidiuk's performances and the accompanying, tasteful recordings on the Metzler/Klahre organ in the Stadtcasino in Basel (where organ festivals are also regularly held) have a high artistic value." Review by Aart van der Wal, March 2024
Fono Forum
"Apart from the sovereignty with which Dawidiuk dramatizes both pairs of works seemingly effortlessly and more stylistically, he stages the Metzler organ so skilfully that one hardly recognizes it: classical-gravity in Bach, orchestral massiveness and powerful dynamics in Reger." Review by Friedrich Sprondel, issue 3/2024
Klassik Heute
"With organ works ranging from baroque to modern, this CD gives a captivating impression of the breadth of his talent. On the Metzler/Klahre organ in the music hall of the Stadtcasino Basel, he literally pulls out all the stops to present the stylistically very different works in the right light." Review by Klaus Trapp, December 19, 2023
DLF Kultur
