An unusual trio, winners of the German Music Competition in the "New Music" category, presents the new GENUIN CD Breathe. Paula Breland (clarinet), Jennifer Assmus (violoncello) and Anna-Katharina Schau (accordion) make up the trio – a confluence of instruments that, despite their significant differences, are nevertheless all "breathing” instruments. This is reflected both in the organic music-making style of the young musicians and in their selection of lively works of contemporary music. The program includes music by Katzer, Kuwan, Goldmann, Tiensuu, Rojko, and Fagerlund – examples of how new music can narrate stories passionately and sensually.

klassik.com
"The multi-layered sound levels made possible by the distinctive combination of instruments, combined with the subtle sound design and experimental playing techniques of the three musicians, create a very special interpretative experience." Review by Michael Pitz-Grewenig, August 06, 2024

Fono Forum
"In the eight aphoristic and extremely inventive sound tentacles of Georg Katzer's "Oktopus" Klangspektrum once again pulls out all the stops of a differentiated and powerful interplay." Review by Dirk Wieschollek, November 2023 issue

Bild05.01.2023: Nominated for the German Record Critics Award, Longlist 1/2023
