Once again the musicians of the Swiss Artist Consort embark on a musical expedition: with this album, phenomenal clarinetist François Benda is releasing what is already his sixth GENUIN CD. All the pieces are “kind of jazz” – and “kind of” is a fitting description. They inhabit the exciting threshold between so-called serious music and jazz, from the pivotal figure of Gershwin to contemporary composer Daniel Schnyder, whose has been dancing zestfully among all the genres since the 80s.
