First Piano Trios
by George Enescu and Anton Arensky

The young and scintillating Trio Enescu outdoes itself – their acclaimed GENUIN debut CD makes way for a new production featuring early piano trios by their namesake George Enescu and Anton Arensky. From the very first measure of Enescu’s tempestuous youthful work, we’re amazed at how passionate – and simultaneously perfect! – music written by a 17-year-old can be. With this piece, the three young musicians round out their complete recording of the Romanian national composer’s oeuvre for trio. And Anton Arensky’s delectable chamber music, interpreted on the same high level, also makes us sit up and take notice, asking ourselves why these pieces don’t show up more often on concert programs.
