Until her premature death, all the music violinist Christine Raphael chose to perform was vivified by her interpretation. Some of the works in her considerable repertoire which were of particular importance to her are now being released on the Genuin label and testify to a perceptive artist of indisputably sublime gifts. Her rendition of the minor works of Suk and Schumann imbue them with as much stark contours, power and warmth as her performance of Dvořák's pleasantly tuneful and highly expressive violin concerto.
